BARRED PLYMOUTH ROCKS

Named for the Plymouth rock in
Massachusetts and their barred color the
Barred Plymouth Rock was the first
American breed of poultry. The Barred
Rocks were first
exhibited at a poultry show in Boston,
Massachusetts in 1849. They are a  dual
purpose fowl for the production of eggs and
meat. The exhibition quality Barred Rock is
distinguishable by it's beautiful alternate
black and white bars that run straight
across the feather and end in a narrow black
tip. Carl has been raising this breed for
almost 50  years.
